A Novel Approach to Parton Shower Event Generators

I will present some first steps to systematically extending parton showers to more accurate theory predictions. I will motivate this by exemplifying the current lack of a systematic expansion and reliable. uncertainty estimates, and how more analytic control and a new formalism can help to turn parton shower event generators into precision tools. I will conclude with an outlook on how this also helps to constrain phenomenological models.
