The KMPB School 2026: Symbols and Periods is a one-week program in which we will explore mathematical methods for perturbative and non-perturbative computations of amplitudes.

The school is organised by PhD students at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with the support of the KMPB (Kolleg Mathematik Physik Berlin), an interdisciplinary centre at HU whose community of research groups shares a mutual interest in mathematics and physics.

In the spirit of the KMPB, the school aims at generating synergies between mathematicians and physicists and welcomes early-career researchers (PhDs/PostDocs) and advanced Master's students in both fields. Funding is available for several students upon application.

The program consists of the following lecture series:

  • Introduction to Symbology by Anastasia Volovich

  • Elliptic Multipolylogarithms and their Symbol by Antonela Matijašić
  • Periods in Mathematical Physics by Johannes Broedel

  • Introduction to Resurgence by Veronica Fantini
