The quest for localized black holes in large extra dimension models: an overview and a proposal for an analytic solution

by Dr Nikolaos Pappas

Europe/Athens
Description

The yet unsolved issue of the on brane localization of a stationary black hole is reviewed. The key remark is that the so far used metric anzätze couple the mass term directly with the warping factor allowing this way the mass to extent infinitely into the bulk. However, this contradicts the basic assumption about the open strings being confined on the brane and only closed stings to be allowed to propagate into the bulk. A new metric is proposed address this problem.
