Black holes with primary hair

Description

Explicit static, spherically symmetric black-hole solutions endowed with primary scalar hair arise within the shift-symmetric, parity-preserving subclass of beyond Horndeski theories. In addition to the mass, the solutions depend on a second free parameter identified with a conserved scalar charge arising from the Noether current of the shift symmetry. For small values of this charge, the geometries closely resemble the Schwarzschild spacetime, while increasing scalar hair leads to a controlled departure from General Relativity. For a particular relation between mass and scalar charge, the central singularity disappears and regular black holes or solitonic configurations emerge. An explicit algorithm underlies the construction of such solutions in the general theory allowing analytic configurations.
