Abstract:

I’ll talk about how we use squeezing to improve quantum noise (shot noise and radiation pressure noise) in LIGO, what the current limitations are, and what is needed for quantum enhancement of future detectors. Can have a bonus lab tour afterwards for anyone who is interested.
