Some more information regarding the forward physics workshop on May 27-28
The workshop was roughly divided into
1) Discussion of facilities,
2) BSM/neutrino physics talks including results from the first detector in the LHC neutrino beam to see some events.
3) Discussion of a possible experimental program and what is needed to develop it.
There is now a lot of detailed understanding of the civil construction. Cost
and schedule estimates are getting ready.
There is agreement that a scientific case has to be made in a timely way to make decisions.
They are exploring if the timeline of the forward physics facility can be separated from the HL-LHC timeline. A summary document is being planned by the organizers: Jonathan, Felix, and Maria.
From a distant view: there is a need to develop key scientific applications for the facility, and there is an
opportunity to consider and propose new types of detectors.
There are minutes attached to this event.
Show them.
