SWGO Site Visit to candidate sites in Chile
Chile

The Southern Wide field Gamma ray Observatory (SWGO), is in the process of defining the appropriate site to be installed in South America. The candidate sites are in Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile. In the case of Chile, the proposed sites are within the Atacama Astronomical Park (AAP), next to the ALMA observatory in the Chajnantor plateau, Antofagasta Region.
The SWGO Collaboration has formed an international scientific Site Visit Committee that will assess in person the various proposed sites.
In the case of Chile, the visit is scheduled between Monday, October 24 and Saturday, October 29, 2022. The local SWGO members in Chile have organized this INDICO site to maintain the information of the activities and schedule of the visit.
Attendance in person for the Monday event is now closed.
