Description

The National Seminar on Advances in Astrophysics and Space Science Research (NSAASSR) is being organised by the Department of Physics and Electronics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, Karnataka, during 13 - 15 February 2023.  The department has a strong team of astronomers and astrophysicists who work in extragalactic astronomy, stellar astrophysics, and cosmology, among other areas of study.

IUCAA has approved the Department of Physics and Electronics to initiate an IUCAA Centre for Astronomy Research and Development (ICARD) since October 1, 2022. The three-day national seminar is planned to provide postgraduate (PG) and some highly motivated undergraduate (UG) students to gain insight and knowledge on the current developments in Astronomy and Astrophysics under the ICARD activities.

The national seminar aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive and interactive learning experience. The programme involves a mix of invited talks by eminent scientists, students' contributions, and hands-on data analysis sessions. The contributory talks by students will be on the projects carried out/being carried out during their UG/PG programmes.
