The Energy-Energy Correlation (EEC) is an event shape at electron-position colliders that measures the angular dependence of the energy deposition in two detectors. It is an important benchmark observable to test QCD and to extract the strong coupling constant, and much effort has be devoted to its calculation, both in QCD and N = 4 supersymmetric Yang–Mills (sYM) theory. In my talk, I will focus on the back-to-back limit of the EEC, and elaborate on the relation to transverse-momentum factorization in this limit. I will also describe the recent calculation of the EEC jet function at three loops using the method of collinear expansions, and the nontrivial check on this calculation from a conjecture in N=4 sYM theory. This calculation provides the last missing ingredient to resum the EEC in the back-to-back limit at three loop accuracy, and I will present first numerical results at this order.
