The production of final states including one or more Higgs bosons is typically dominated by gluon fusion, with a virtual top-quark loop mediating the interaction to the Higgs boson. A popular way of simplifying the computation of higher order corrections to gluon fusion processes are effective vertices, obtained in the limit of large top mass. For 2-> 2 processes this limit is though valid only in a very limited part of the phase space. In my talk, I will discuss two ideas on how to tackle the computation of NLO QCD corrections to gluon fusion processes analytically by looking at the di-Higgs production process. The discussed approximations describe correctly the most relevant part of the phase space.
