Description

The CERN LHC is able to measure a substantial number of standard model benchmark reactions to unprecedented accuracy. To fully exploit these data in physics studies, theoretical predictions must attain a comparable level of precision. The talk reviews the perturbation theory methods that enable precision calculations of jet cross sections and related quantities, and illustrates the physics impact of improvements to theory predictions on several example processes.
