New Gauge Symmetries: Dark Matter, EDMs and the LHC

Description

I will discuss minimal gauge extensions of the Standard Model and their phenomenology, going from colliders to CP violation to cosmology. Firstly, I will discuss the gauging of Baryon Number where the mediator can avoid collider constraints and dark matter annihilation leads to gamma-ray lines. Moreover, new sources of CP violation lead to large electric dipole moments for the electron and the neutron. Secondly,  I will discuss the gauging of Lepton Number that leads to Dirac neutrinos where we find that the cosmological constraint on the effective number of relativistic species, N_eff, gives the strongest bound on the model.
