Nuclear PDFs by Aleksander Kusina
Discussion
Q: given the precision achieved for the gluon nPDF for instance, can we already extract physics from it?
A: caveat: the (very-)low x and Q2 region is only constrained by one dataset for now (LHCb D mesons), important to have an independent measurement for confirmation.
Q: what are the next important theory developments?
A: UPC and NNLO calculations
Q: do you have any other observable in your wishlist that we have never thought about before?
A: more-differential measurements are always welcome and beneficial for global fits, but that's just a matter of more data
Discussion on the feasibility for differential ttbar cross section in pPb in the future and predictions for fixed-target data.
- nPDFs fits would profit from more differential in rapidity ttbar cross section measurements
- high-x studies with the fixed target measurements (AFTER@LHC projections were shown)
EWB combination proposal by Guillaume Taillepied
- a working group representing all LHC experiments has been established
- start with Z bosons in pPb collisions at 5 TeV in central (ATLAS/CMS) and forward (ALICE/LHCb) rapidities
Total charm cross section by Jeremy Wilkinson
- total charm cross section in pp collisions at 5 TeV using for the first time open charm mesons and baryons from ALICE, CMS and LHCb measurements
- paper draft is being finalized and will be released soon
No need to go through collaborations as long as only public info are used
