HonexComb Meeting 26.10.2021
============================
* News:
-------
o All the postdocs have been hired, great!

o LPCC Working Group has been created, first meeting
already happened in July
https://lpcc.web.cern.ch/content/lhc-hi-wg

o Next meetings to be decided as usual Tuesday
afernoon location crashes with internal experiments'meetings

* Combination of Light-by-light scattering (Atlas+CMS)
--------------------------------------------------------
Georgios presented first results on combination of
L-by-L scattering results from Atlas (2015&18) and CMS(2015)
in UPC PbPb collisions.
The group used the iterative BLUE algorithm as done in other
publications to combine three measurements from Atlas and one from
CMS. SuperChic is used to scale the CMS result to the same
kinematic region of Atlas. A full table of the correlations
considered in the measurement has been presented as well as the
combined result, which is 10% more precise than the single measurements
albeit still about 2 sigmas' away from the predictions.
This result aims at being public for Quark Matter 2022.
=> Discussion: possible to add new CMS result in the next iteration; maybe
a projection could be added to the paper.

* Studies on quarkonium feed-down (LHCb+CMS)
--------------------------------------------
Florian presented an overview of the available
measurements on Quarkonium feedown in pp collisions
concentrating on bottomonium results and prospects
(also quoting theory here:Phys. Rev. D 94, 014028 (2016)).
A precise measurement in this area would be crucial also
in the evaluation of the bottomonium supression
in PbPb collisions. Some ideas have been discussed
in particular on how to address such quantities in the
low-pT region where no measurement is available.
=>Discussion: Jacopo suggested to look into
a new work described here: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1408.4075.pdf
where the theory results could be used for
extrapolating the data at low momentum. Also LHCb
will look in possible new results coming up with
larger statistics.

* Total charm cross-section extraction (LHCb+CMS+ALICE)
--------------------------------------------------------
Jiayin verbally updated on the situation of this
complicated measurement and on the news about the
evaluation of the correlations. A report is expected for
Quark Matter 2022, although concerns have been raised on
the inclusion of the baryons'production results from
Alice and LHCb in light of the results in e+e- in
not perfect agreement with published LHC results.
More discussion will happen offline among the analysts to
address the concerns and decide the route forward.
