Description

SQMS Quantum for Science

SQMS will be hosting a 3-day meeting to discuss science and opportunities for joint activities between UK and US scientists in the areas of superconducting devices, quantum computing and quantum sensing for fundamental physics. The meeting is funded by the UKRI programme "Quantum for science – scientific exchange visits".

Meeting: 20th - 22nd March 2024 (London)

Topics:

Day 1: Facilities for rare event searches and ultra-quiet
environments for quantum benchmarking (Underground, ULT, Low radiogenic background), Co-chairs Anna Grassellino (Fermilab) and Andrew Casey (Royal Holloway, University of London)

Day 2: Superconducting Qubits & resonators: materials & sources of decoherence, Co-chairs James Sauls (LSU) and Sebastian de Graaf (National Physical Laboratory, UK)

Day 3: QTFP approaches to Dark Matter Searches, Co-chairs Jocelyn Monroe (University of Oxford) and Roni Harnik (Fermilab)

Venue:

The workshop will be hosted in London at:

Prince Philip House, 3 Carlton House Terrace, Westminster, London SW1Y 5DG, The Home of The Royal Academy of Engineering.
