Description
After a brief review of LHC high precision calculations I will discuss the current state of the art of N3LO splitting function calculations and their role for reducing theory uncertainties. A promising method to make progress at this order is the operator product expansion. A longstanding problem, which has so far hindered progress with this method in the flavour singlet sector, is due to the mixing with ghost and alien operators under renormalisation. I will present a general solution to this problem, which generalizes a method originally developed by Dixon and Taylor in seventies, but which had never been applied beyond the two-loop level. I will present results up to four loops for specific Mellin moments.
