Jack Holguin: Amplitude-level parton branching algorithms
https://zoom.us/j/304578256
In this talk I will discuss studies into radiation dressing QCD hard process amplitudes. I will give a brief overview of QCD radiation. Following this, I will present a formalism which reduces the computation of arbitrary multiplicities of full colour soft and collinear QCD radiation, in the massless limit, to a single Markovian evolution equation. I will summarise investigations into the formalism which found that it can be used to study the accuracy of modern day parton showers and motivate new parton showers with increased accuracy. I will focus on the introduction of a new form of dipole shower, constructed to inherit the accuracy of an angular-ordered shower without losing the benefits and generalised applicability of a traditional dipole shower. Following this discussion, I will briefly discuss some ongoing projects looking at coherence effects in QCD radiation.
Connections will begin at 12:30 with the seminar beginning at 13:00. Password for Zoom is NielsBohr.
