Description

Monte Carlo simulations are an important tool in (statistical) physics and optimization. This workshop is aimed at scientists who have a fundamental knowledge about the method and want to apply their algorithms on large scale HPC systems.

The following topics are covered

  • implementation of Monte Carlo methods using Python and C++
  • Parallelization using MPI
  • Scaling to large systems
  • I/O strategies for parallel Monte Carlo simulations

There will be a guest account for the Goethe NHR available for all attendees.

Location (hybrid):  Takes place at the campus Riedberg of Goethe University Frankfurt in the Otto Stern Zentrum room S4. Additionally a zoom link will be provided to registered participants.

Registration Fee:  None (exclusive to academic institution members)
