r\n\nKinetic methods are one of the many possible approaches to model a sy
stem of many particles interacting with each other. The most prominent exa
 mple is the so-called Particle-in-Cell method (PiC).\nPiC is a versatile a
nd extremely easy to implement kinetic method\, which is the main factor b
ehind its popularity. The relatively low computational cost is the next po
int making PiC such a common choice.\nIn this workshop PiC approaches and
their implementation in an HPC context are discussed. The main focus is th
erefore on the simulation of extremely large systems.\nTopics include but
are not limited to:\n\nBasic concepts of different PiC approaches\nCurrent
  deposition schemes\nField solvers\nParticle movers\nParallelization strat
egies\nI/O strategies\n\nLocation: Takes place at the campus Riedberg of G
oethe University Frankfurt in the Otto Stern Zentrum room S4.\nRegistratio
n Fee:  None (exclusive to academic institution members)\nOrganization:
Organized by the NHR@SW.\nDaily Timings:  9:00–16:00\n\nhttps://indico.
