DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Artemiy Belousov\n\nDescription\nThis one-day hands-
on workshop introduces the simulation and analysis workflows used in moder
n particle and nuclear physics. Examples are drawn from the analysis pipel
ines of the CBM experiment and reflect real research practice in the study
of heavy-ion collisions.\nParticipants will learn how Monte Carlo simulat
ions generate collision events with transport models such as PHSD. They wi
ll also see how reconstruction algorithms\, including the Kalman Filter Pa
rticle Finder (KFPF)\, turn detector signals into physics observables. The
practical part focuses on data processing\, visualization and statistical
analysis with the CERN ROOT framework.\nThe workshop is self-contained. I
t also provides the foundation for the follow-up workshop "Neural Networks
for Scientific Data Analysis in Particle Physics"\, where the datasets an
d concepts introduced here are used as input for machine learning applicat
 ions.\nLearning Goals\nParticipants will learn how to:\n\nUnderstand Monte
Carlo simulation workflows for heavy-ion collisions\nWork with reconstruc
ted detector data\nUse ROOT for data visualization and statistical analysi
s\nExtract physics observables from collision events\n\nProgram\nMorning\n

fields who want a practical introduction to simulation and data analysis.
