DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Christian Meesters (Center for Scientific Computing\
 , Goethe University Frankfurt)\n\nC++ Programming (Beginner Level)\nThis 2
-day course equips participants with the foundational skills to start prog
ramming in C++. It is intended for inexperienced programmers wanting to st
art a project.\nAgenda\n\nBasic Program Structure: The participants will u
nderstand basic C++ programs and learn how to translate it to be executed
on a computer.\nComments and Code Blocks: We learn how to structure and co
mment our code and how to do this well-structured.\nBasic Types and Operat
ions: Participants will learn about the fundamental data types used in pro
gramming and the operations allowed with them.\nLoops and Conditionals: Ou
r exercises will focus on carrying out repetitive tasks and implementing l
ogical criteria.\nContainer Data Types: Programming languages offer abstra
ct data types (“containers”) to ease programming. In this course we wi
ll introduce first abstract data types in the C++ language to set the foun
dation for application programming.\n\nThe course material (slides) will b
e made available to the class participants.\nLearning Outcomes\nBy the end
of this tutorial\, participants will:\n\nhave an understanding of the bas
ic C++ code structure\nknowledge of basic computer data types\nbe introduc
ed to a standard Integrated Development Environment\n\nPrerequisites\n\nAb
ility to navigate the shell (bash) for basic file manipulation and command
execution.\n\n \n \nLocation: Takes place at the campus Riedberg of Goe
the University Frankfurt in room 01.120 of the Physics Building\, Max-von-
Laue Straße 1. Detailed travel directions will be provided to accepted pa
rticipants in advance.\nEligibility: Exclusive to members of academic inst
itutions. The organizer reserve the right to revoke non-eligible registrat
ions!\nRegistration Fee: None (exclusive to academic institution members)\
nOrganization: Organized by the NHR@SW.\nDaily Timings: 9:00–17:00\n\nht
