Description

The increasing precision of collider measurements calls for theoretical predictions that combine sophisticated perturbative calculations with flexible and automated computational frameworks. My research addresses this challenge through the development of tools for both complex final states and high-order QCD calculations.
I will first discuss recent extensions of MadGraph5_aMC@NLO for the automated simulation of quarkonium production within non-relativistic QCD. In particular, I will present the implementation of S- and P-wave quarkonium states and the associated angular-momentum projectors, together with a consistent treatment of bound-state kinematics. I will show how these developments enable automated calculations for a broad range of quarkonium production processes and discuss phenomenological applications.
The second part of the seminar will focus on history, a Monte Carlo framework for fully differential NNLO QCD calculations based on nested soft-collinear subtraction. I will introduce the basic ingredients of the framework and discuss its application to colour-singlet production, with an emphasis on examples from fully differential Higgs production.
