DESCRIPTION:We are launching a high-level physics symposium series in Shan
 ghai. The initiative is envisioned as an invitation-only meeting series\, 
 bringing together a compact cohort of preeminent scientists spanning diver
 se disciplines and global regions to deliberate on core fundamental physic
 s challenges\, pinpoint cutting-edge emerging research frontiers\, and cha
 rt the development trajectory of modern physics—drawing profound inspira
 tion from the pioneering ethos of the Solvay Conferences. The series is cu
 rated to foster an informal\, dialogue-centric atmosphere\, with only a mo
 dest slate of formal presentations arranged per day. This symposium was in
 itiated from a discussion between Professor Zhang Jie\, the director of Ts
 ung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI)\, and Mr. Sha Ye\, a distinguished benefactor
  who provides generous financial support for the program.\nThe tentative c
 ore theme for the inaugural 2026 meeting is “Fundamental Discoveries thr
 ough Precision Measurements”. Slated for mid-November 2026\, this openin
 g gathering will center on how state-of-the-art\, ultra-sensitive detectio
 n techniques can drive significant breakthroughs in probing pivotal open q
 uestions in fundamental physics\, including dark matter’s intrinsic natu
 re\, neutrino characteristics\, experimental verification of fundamental s
 ymmetries\, and gravity-related research avenues. \nThe meeting is tentat
 ively scheduled for November 16–19\, 2026 in Shanghai. Following the sym
 posium\, an optional field visit to the China Jinping Underground Laborato
 ry—home to the PandaX experiment—will be arranged for interested parti
