DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Kyle Leach (Colorado School of Mines)\n\n\nWORKSHOP
FOCUS\nThe meeting will connect researchers developing state-of-the-art op
tomechanical sensors in the nuclear\, particle\, and astroparticle communi
ties that could use them. A central goal is to identify concrete experimen
tal opportunities\, technical challenges\, and new collaborations at the i
nterface of these fields.CONTEXT: OPTOMECHANICAL SENSING\nMechanical reson
ators operating at or near the quantum limit are opening new approaches to
some of the most challenging measurements in fundamental physics. This wo
rkshop will bring together researchers in optomechanics\, quantum sensing\
, atomic physics\, and subatomic and astroparticle physics to explore how
these rapidly developing technologies can be applied to searches for new p
 articles and forces\, precision recoil measurements\, neutrino physics\, d
ark matter detection\, and tests of fundamental quantum mechanics.TOPICS\n
 \n- Levitated and cavity optomechanical sensors\n- Quantum-limited force\,
impulse\, and acceleration measurements\n- Dark matter and new-force sear
 ches\n- Nuclear decays\, recoils\, and neutrino measurements\n- Tests of q
 uantum mechanics and gravity\n- Sensor control\, readout\, backgrounds\, a
nd scalabilityFORMATInvited and contributed presentations\, focused discus
sion sessions\, and opportunities for informal scientific exchange and col
 laboration.\n\n\n\nhttps://indico.global/event/18677/
