 for Theoretical Physics at the University of Michigan will be organizing a
  4-day workshop in Ann Arbor on the recent developments in quantum aspects
  of black holes. The workshop will bring together researchers from all the
  Leinweber Institutes and select external guests in a meeting with invited
  talks\, open discussions\, and collaborative sessions.\nBlack holes have 
 long been a fertile testing ground for ideas at the intersection of genera
 l relativity\, quantum field theory\, and statistical mechanics. Over the
  past decade\, remarkable progress has refined our understanding of the q
 uantum nature of black holes\, including but notlimited to:\n\nMicroscopic
  understanding of entropy\nQuantum corrections to black holes\nInformation
  paradox and resolution proposals\nHolography and bulk reconstruction\nNon
 -equilibrium processes\n\n \nThe key aims of the workshop are to:\n\nStim
 ulate robust discussion about the interplay between gravity\, quantum fiel
 d theory\, statistical mechanics\, and quantum information theory\nIdenti
 fy key open questions and promising directions for future research\, parti
 cularly those likely to benefit from interdisciplinary approaches\nFoster
  collaborations\, especially between researchers from different LITP nodes
