DESCRIPTION:This CLARIPHY workshop aims to seed the national-scale AI coll
aboration described in the whitepaper “Building an AI-native Research E
cosystem for Experimental Particle Physics: A Community Vision” (arXiv:2
602.17582). The workshop brings together both participants in new or ongoi
ng AI-related projects of relevance to High Energy and Nuclear Physics as
well as interested new collaborators to build this proto-collaboration. Th
e workshop builds on two previous community workshops: “Open (and Close
 d) Data in the Age of AI” and “Blueprint Workshop: Towards a National-
Scale AI Collaboration in HEP”.\nThe workshop will take place at the Pyl
e Center at the University of Wisconsin - Madison from Monday 14 September
  through Wednesday 16 September\, 2026.\nThe CLARIPHY collaboration\, incl
uding both universities and DOE laboratories\, has a number of potential
benefits and opportunities.  A goal of this workshop is to continue to pr
ioritize among those and seed an organizational structure based on the nee
ds of the community.\nThe workshop will feature a mix of presentations fro
m new and ongoing funded projects in this space\, providing an opportunity
to share current activities as well as identify common needs and opportun
ities for coordination. A central aim\, however\, is to move beyond indivi
dual project updates toward a substantive discussion and the formation of
initial working groups around key areas such as:\n\n\n(Open/Closed) Data a
 nd Benchmarks\n\n\nFoundation Models for HEP/NP\n\n\nAgentic Workflows\n\n
\nComputing Infrastructure (and other Resources)\n\n\nEducation\, Training
and Workforce Development\n\n\nWe will aim to frame the working groups ar
ound both shared physics challenges and the AI research needed to address
them.\nWe are also planning dedicated hands-on/training/hackathon activiti
es to aid people to get engaged. The meeting is intended as a collaboratio
n-building event\, with dedicated time for discussion\, planning\, and ide
ntifying concrete next steps. Participation: Participation is welcome fro
m across the experimental particle-physics areas represented in the AI-nat
ive research ecosystem whitepaper\, spanning collider\, neutrino\, nuclear
\, and astroparticle physics\, as well as from theory\, phenomenology\, an
d related astrophysics communities where shared challenges and collaborati
ve opportunities may emerge.\nWe welcome participation not only from senio
r researchers and PIs\, but also from postdoctoral researchers\, senior gr
aduate students\, research software engineers\, technical staff\, and any
others actively contributing to ongoing or planned projects.Contact for qu
