Abstract:\nIn this seminar I will present my masters thesis\, which is a f
easibility and performance study of detecting the glueball candidate $X(23
70)$ in $\\bar{p}p$ reactions for a precursor experiment for PANDA by usi
 ng COSY.\nTwo decay channels\, $X(2370) \\to f_0(980)(\\to K^+K^−)\\eta
 ′(\\to \\pi^+\\pi−\\eta(\\to \\gamma\\gamma))$ (Kaon channel)and $X(2
 370) \\to f_0(980)(\\to \\pi^+\\pi−)\\eta′(\\to\\pi^+\\pi−\\eta(\\to
\\gamma\\gamma))$ (Pion channel)\, are investigated. \nDue to the low r
equired beam momentum of approximately 1.8452 GeV/c this is attractive for
this possibly early stage experiment.Simulations are needed to define ang
ular coverage and resolution requirements for the components needed for ch
arged and neutral particle detection. The simulations are performed using
the HepFastSim framework\, to generate signal and background processes.
No material interactions are simulated\, and particle properties are inste
ad smeared according to the detector resolutions\, e.g. in angle or momen
tum. Events are generated according to the available phase space. \nThe s
implifications allow quick testing of different setups compared to regular
simulations. Studies for the impact of different tracking or calorimeter
resolutions are performed and discussed. Using the results from the signa
l and background studies the signal-to-background ratio is calculated. Th
e needed cross section is estimated for a ratio $> 1$ to estimate how sens
 itive the measurements might be.\n\nhttps://indico.global/event/18394/
