Description

The detection of a primordial gravitational-wave background would provide a unique window into the physics of inflation and the very early Universe. I will discuss recent progress towards this goal, focusing on the prospects for observing hints of such a signal with current and future gravitational-wave experiments. I will also present new detection strategies and the challenges involved in disentangling an inflationary signal from astrophysical backgrounds.
