 Denmark)\nAbstract:  In a number of different approaches to quantum gravi
 ty\, the effective number of spatial dimensions has been found to change w
 ith energy scale. Motivated by this phenomenon\, we propose quantum system
 s in which the number of spatial dimensions is promoted to a dynamical qua
 ntum variable. This opens new avenues for constructing gravitational syste
 ms in which the very notion of dimensionality becomes quantum. During the 
 talk\, we will discuss the fundamentals of our formalism and its possible
