DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Simone Zoia (CERN)\n\n\n\nThe computation of multi-l
oop scattering amplitudes remains a central bottleneck in achieving the th
eoretical precision needed to fully exploit the increasingly accurate data
from the Large Hadron Collider. The challenge is particularly daunting fo
r processes involving many particles and masses\, which are nonetheless of
great phenomenological interest for the LHC. The main difficulties arise
from the enormous size of the resulting algebraic expressions and from the
appearance of special functions for which a practical mathematical framew
ork is still lacking. In this seminar\, I will present recent progress towa
rds overcoming these obstacles by combining novel analytic methods with nu
merical techniques. I will illustrate these developments with applications
to the computation of two-loop QCD amplitudes for key LHC processes: the
production of a top-antitop pair in association with either a jet or a W b
 oson.ZOOM LINK\n\n\n\nhttps://indico.global/event/17519/
