 cal platform MLA2S of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW)\, together w
 ith Technical University of Leoben (MUL)\, is organizing a four-day semina
 r for the "Österreichische Studienstiftung" dedicated to the theory and p
 ractice of machine learning.\nAfter the joint arrival and welcome on May 5
 \, two intensive seminar days follow\, led by researchers from the Wolfgan
 g Pauli Institute and the University of Vienna. Participants will receive 
 a solid introduction to the fundamentals of machine learning and deepen th
 eir knowledge through practical exercises.\nOn May 8\, Montanuniversität 
 will open its laboratories and research facilities for guided tours\, befo
 re the 24-hour machine learning hackathon begins in the afternoon. This br
 ings scholarship recipients together with MUL students in teams to tackle 
 real materials science questions using machine learning methods. The hacka
 thon is supervised by experts from ÖAW and MUL and concludes on May 9 (ar
 ound 3:00 p.m.) with the presentation of results and awards for the best t
 eams.\nImportant: We assume only basic computer skills\; no programming ex
 perience is required for the seminar or the hackathon. Funded students fro
 m all fields of study are welcome to participate.\nThis event offers an ex
 cellent opportunity to learn about current research\, gain practical exper
