DESCRIPTION:Speakers: András Kovács (Konkoly Observatory)\n\n\nOur solar
  system\, indeed our own Milky Way galaxy\, pales in comparison to the obs
 ervable Universe's dimensions. Thus\, the extragalactic research group at 
 Konkoly Observatory has a wide array of intriguing research topics\, astro
 physical phenomena\, and objects to choose from.\nOur primary areas of int
 erest include \n\ndistant stellar explosions\, supernovae\, tidal catastro
 phes\, gamma-ray bursts\, and other transient phenomena (led by J. Vinkó)
 . \nfurthermore\, we study active galactic nuclei across the entire elect
 romagnetic spectrum and even employ tools from neutrino astronomy (led by 
 S. Frey). \na more recent addition of to our research lines is cosmology 
 and the study of the large-scale structure of the Universe with novel data
  from ongoing galaxy surveys\, trying to answer the pressing questions abo
 ut the dark substances in the cosmos (led by A. Kovács).\n\nMotivated by 
 the possibility to collaborate more closely with each other\, we decided t
 o organise a workshop where Konkoly’s early-career scientists working on
  extragalactic topics give a short overview of their research projects. Af
 ter the successful events in 2024 and 2025\, the goal for this third works
 hop is to again discuss common themes and methods\, leading to joint initi
 atives and creative new lines of research using state-of-the-art data sets
