Description
The paradigm of dark matter as a collisionless single-species of particle has been a part of the standard cosmological model for decades, because given the uncertainties in the measurements until recently, it would not have been possible to distinguish this model from a range of less simple models. We now live in an era of abundance and increasing precision of astrophysical and cosmological measurements however, which makes this a key time to look for deviations from this paradigm. I will focus on several approaches involving non-trivial interactions of dark matter and dark radiation that may alleviate the Hubble tension while providing a good fit to all other cosmological observations.
