DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Daniel Kuhn (EPFL)\, Niao He (ETH Zurich)\, Yifan Hu
(EPFL)\, Jia-Jie Zhu (WIAAS)\n\nThe fields of optimal transport (OT) and
optimization have a rich and intertwined history\, providing foundational
tools for mathematics\, statistics\, and computer science. These disciplin
es overlap with a broad range of topics\, including partial differential e
quations (PDEs)\, inverse problems\, and machine learning. The deep theore
tical foundations of both fields are critical for addressing a wide range
of classical and modern computational challenges.\nThis workshop aims to b
ring together researchers from three diverse communities—optimal transpo
rt\, optimization\, and operations research—to discuss latest theoretica
l advancements and foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. \
nThe workshop will explore intricate connections of these fields in cuttin
g-edge applications such as deep generative models\, domain adaptation\, r
 obust optimization\, and econ theory\, \n\nhttps://indico.global/event/13
