Being the heaviest particle, the top quark plays a special role in the standard model and the exact value of its mass is of large interest for consistency tests. In this talk, I will introduce how we measure the top quark mass at the LHC and discuss advantages and limitations of the strategies used. The talk focuses on measurements using high-energy top quarks, where the top quark decay products merge and are reconstructed in a single jet.

IceCube is a powerful neutrino telescope, one of the leaders in multi-messenger astronomy, capable of studying vast subjects such as neutrino oscillation and cosmic rays due to its size and design. However, the subject that interests us in this work is another, and no less significant: dark matter. Since its first strong evidence in the 1960s, researchers worldwide have been trying to uncover its nature. While Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) have been primary candidates, their elusive detection prompts exploration of alternatives like heavy dark matter. We believe that galaxies are surrounded by a halo of dark matter, and ours is no exception. In this seminar, we present an analysis that aims to detect low-energy neutrinos from electroweak corrections originating from the annihilation or decay of heavy dark matter in the halo surrounding the Milky Way.
