Description

This workshop has the purpose of bringing together the communities of heavy-ion and neutron star physics, to discuss ways of mapping out the high-energy equation of state across the entire QCD phase diagram. This is an inherently interdisciplinary effort that will require input from nuclear physicists, gravitational waves physicists, astrophysicists, computer scientists, and particle physicists.

Topics:

  • Status of the QCD equation of state and ways to probe it in heavy-ion collisions (RHIC BES II, HADES..)
  • QCD equation of state models for neutron stars and neutron star mergers
  • LIGO and NICER constraints on the high-energy equation of state and phase diagram.

The meeting will take place on Zoom. A link will be distributed to all registered participants shortly before the workshop.
